Badminton Wheelchair Range

Our Made to Measure Badminton wheelchairs take full advantage of our Contour Body Mapping System. All measurements are taken electronically, ruling our human error when taking measurements from a tape measure.

Our Elite Pro range is made from 7020 T6 lightweight aluminium or Lightweight Magnesium and comes with Spinergy SPOX wheels as standard. A Made to Measure wheelchair has the added benefit of being able to undergo a second fitting session. This allows the user to try the chair to ensure it meets all physical requirements. While the chair is in this state, we can make minor adjustments to the frame.

Club Badminton Wheelchairs are made from robust steel. This allows our Club range to be a cost-effective alternative to our Made to Measure chairs. Club chairs come with quick release sport wheels, a single anti-tip wheel, and adjustable upholstery.

Wheelchair User Manuals

RMA Sport chairs are individually designed and hand-built as a bespoke sport product enabling the user to participate in a sport in which conventional wheelchairs are not capable of withstanding the dynamic /physical impacts and stresses the sport demands. As such, the standard requirements of manual wheelchairs are not fully applied to these products. Due to the nature of the chairs and the unique requirements for each user, the chairs are classified as ‘Custom Made Devices’ under the MDD and as such are exempt from bearing the ‘CE’ mark normally associated with Medical Devices. They do however have to comply with the Essential Requirements of Annex I of the MDD.

Intended Use

Each wheelchair is intended to be used solely for the purpose of participating in the sport (excluding our Vida Active day chair). Due to the requirements of the sport, these products are not suitable or intended for everyday use.

Upon receipt of your chair

Always check that there is no obvious damaged caused during the shipping process.
Fit the wheels to your chair.
Adjust your seat to give you your optimum seating position.
Ensure that your backrest is correctly adjusted and gives you the maximum support and comfort.
If your chair is fitted with an adjustable footrest – make any adjustments.
Tighten any lap, chest or foot straps that are fitted.

Care and Maintenance

Always ensure the frame is structurally sound and there are no visible cracks present. Make sure the main wheel axles are correctly adjusted and the wheels are fully secured to the chair. (Quick release pin must be out) Check there is no debris wrapped around castor axles or bearings and the castor forks are secure – check for any excessive looseness in the castor forks and that they rotate freely. The tyres should be checked for correct pressures before each game. Regularly inspect your seat and back upholsteries for any tears, rips or degradation of the foams as this could lead to injury. Also check any straps.

Warranty

The frame has a 12 month return to base warranty in the unlikely event of any material failure.

Due to the intended use, tyres, wheel bearings and upholsteries are not warrantied against normal wear and tear.

Multi-Sport Wheelchair

The Multi-Sport Wheelchair from RMA Sport has been designed in association with Youth Sport Trust to encourage youth participation in various sporting activities, including basketball and tennis (not suitable for wheelchair rugby). It has been given a four-star rating by Able Magazine.

The wheelchair is made in the UK and is exclusive to Youth Sport Trust. The wheelchair is available in a series of standard seat width sizes that are colour coordinated, making sizes easy to identify by schools and clubs. The flexibility in the options offers the opportunity for young people of all shapes and sizes to get involved in sport.

Multi-Sport Wheelchair Range

Together with Youth Sport Direct, designing a multi-sport wheelchair began to materialise. Our objective of encouraging youth participation in various inclusive sporting activities meant that the wheelchair needed to be as lightweight as possible to facilitate the enjoyment of the sport. From individual to team sports, the multi-sport wheelchair is the perfect taster chair.

The multi-sport wheelchair is designed, manufactured and tested at our facility in Bridgend, South Wales, and is exclusively available through our partners, Youth Sport Direct. There are four seat widths to choose from; all four sizes have a weight limit of 12st or 76kg. Colour coordinated sizing makes it easy for schools and clubs to identify: 12” Lime Green, 14” Red, 16” White and 18” Blue. The steel frame supports an adjustable foot rest, canvas seat sling, and backrest. Additionally, the multi-sport wheelchair comes with a set of 24” quick-release wheels.
